I like storytelling, but I've never been a strong writer. I guess that's why I use other mediums to tell stories: with numbers by day and with a camera by night.

While I'd say I'm mostly a documentary photographer, what I really love doing is capturing authentic moments of people doing the things they love with the people they love, from big life milestones to the simple ordinary everyday moments.

the first frame of a 35mm roll of film

in a world where the words "camera roll" has become synonymous to the folder of 50,000+ images in our smartphone, film offers an opportunity to slow down and truly appreciate the act of taking a photograph. To me, the first frame especially celebrates the physical process of photography and the beauty of unpredictable imperfections.

a good cup of coffee, served in a heavy diner mug

I may be a bit biased, but my favorite cups of coffee are the ones my husband (the true coffee connoisseur) prepares with a chemex and freshly grinded beans from a local coffee shop. We love our growing collection of mugs from diners across the country!

hosting dinner parties

from dumpling making parties to bible studies to wine nights to friendsgivings, we love being able to create a space for good conversations and good food with good people!
